Well Google is now notorious for making news. After all I think just about everyone knows what google is. I think it is the most popular internet search engine right now and phrases like "google it" have become embedded into our daily conversations. It is no surprise to see google make headline news and I know I personally am always checking their stock, news, and updates as I am kind of obsessed about google in some ways. I think my greatest attraction is to how they run their business and am very intrigued by the roles they often choose to play. But enough about me going on and on about google. Instead I just wanted to share a few new headlines with you guys about google in case you too may be interested in what this internet giant is up to.

Google Opens up calendar Beta
from Dailty Tech
Looks to eventually integrated into GMail and I wonder how long before it becomes an alternative to Outlook. I still use Outlook over my gmail account (yet check my gmail account via outlook) so it serves little use for me as of now but for those that use gmail religiously it may be the outlook alternative they have been waiting for.

Coming soon: Google Voice Search
from jkOntheRun via ars technica
Voice capabilities are still the one thing I think we are really lacking on the PC currently. We have great strides no doubt but I still think the whole process needs work. Google it seems is hoping to enter the voice command domain with a search engine that may take your spoken word and input it as the search data. I can just see myself now talking to my computer...."Cardiac Gross Anatomy...Google Now!"

Google Text Messages (SMS)
from Student Tablet PC
Been around for awhile but definitely deserves its credit. I must admit I used it more awhile back but have since kind of forgotten about its use. For all us without web based phones or declining to pay those premium for internet service, text messaging is still a great alternative to finding information like weather and movie times from our phones in an efficient and convenient manner.
