GyroQ is Here!

I
once expressed my excitement over the development of a
MindManager add-in that will literally allow me to store away those spontaneous ideas at almost any time. Bridging the link between volatile ideas and recording them in
MindManager posed many difficulities. This was especially true while I recorded notes in class. Yes I admit it...I don't use
MindManager to take notes in class. (Note: I do go home and make a summary of the lecture with
MindManager and link to specific paragraphs in
OneNote using the
MindManager to OneNote link) A random idea would often synthesize at the most inconvient times, class being just one example. However
MindManager is the database that maintains just about everything going on in my life, including those random thoughts. So to capitalize on the idea it recquired a path with MindManager as the final destination. There was no direct route though; the idea often had to navigate through many mediums to find its way at the center of a mind map. Because this task was tedious I either had to put it on hold and possibly forget it, or interupt what I was doing to record it somewhere where I could only hope to find later.
GyroQ now circumvents this pathway and lays down the direct path to
MindManager (even with MindManager isn't open)
Distributing the burden of creative ideas I encounter everyday often requires work. However this task has been alleviated in thanks to
GyroQ .
GyroQ now quickly captures my random thoughts and places them into a
MindManager map that I can easily access. I can redistribute these ideas later with some quick drag and dropping and no longer do I have to worry about losing my next creative thought just because I am working on something else. I adopted
GyroQ to my daily routine just two days ago and I can't express the stress erasing capabilty
GyroQ offers. I am now able to clear my mind more effectively and no longer lose focus during times of tense concentration.
As an individual with ADD it is easy to get off task, especially in class. Just yesterday I was sitting in Advanced Physiology and remembered I had to ask my sister about a song I heard on the radio. An idea or action that normally wouldn't be worth interupting class for is now easily recorded with
GyroQ. Even though you may have moved on and redirected your attention towards class your brain will still record the idea, taking up valuable space and resoucrces that could be better applied to the task at hand. Your brain does this whether you like it or not! However, with a simple ctrl-Q (or an assigned tablet button in my case)
GyroQ rushes to the rescue and allows you to rid the brain of this responsibilty. I quickly entered it in with
GyroQ and basically allocate more brain power towards my current activity, taking notes.
The GTD philosophy is all about getting everything out of your head and into a reliable storage database where it will not get lost.
GyroQ now does this for me and I honestly don't know how I operated without it!
I hope to share more news and discoveries of my adventures with
GyroQ but for the time being you should check out the new
GyroQ site for yourself! If you need an invite just ask me!

Novartis Pharmaceuticals Canada Selects Skura Corporation To Partner in an Innovative Initiative for the Novartis Sales Force
Delight rushes across my body when I hear news of pharmaceutical companies implementing technology into their sales force. I have used technology throughout my life to solve numerous obstacles and am passionate about using creativity to solve challenges in the business and personal world. Pharmaceutical sales strikes a very personal note with me so I felt the need to share the news.
Using software and technology for closed-loop marketing is a concept that many pharmaceutical companies have adopted in order to improve the performance of their representatives. I even
shared a video from GSK and Proscape demonstrating some of these scenarios. Excitement radiates within when I envision the day of becoming a part of this experience and I hope to share some of these discoveries in the future. I am sure it is only a matter of time before all pharmaceutical realize the benefits of this technology and the possibility arises that pharmaceutical representatives will no longer have to carry about those burdensome brief cases!
Tablet PC technology also enters the equation here which makes the story that much more relevant to my own personal life. My Tablet PC (we celebrated our one month anniversary last month) has changed the way I do just about everything. From taking notes in class, to running through mind maps, to reading an ebook while waiting for an appointment the Tablet PC has truly changed the way I go about my day. I am positive
Novartis Pharmaceuticals will enjoy these same benefits and reach new levels of productivity and success!

Land that Interview with a Killer Resume: MindJet Webinar!

I spend a lot of my time these days (and nights) preparing myself for an exciting future that awaits after graduation! As a biology student once persuing a path leading to graduate school, I had very little conern for resumes, behavioral interviews or the level of luminosity that reflects off my recently polished shoes. However as I get ready to enter the world of pharmaceuitcal/medical sales I find myself quickly having to adapt to these once unfamilar rules and regulations. I won't lie, it hasn't been easy, but I am guickly tightening my grip on the concepts that will propel me to success in a sales realted field.
To reach this point I have spent alot of time at career related seminars offered by my school as well as picked up a few books on the pharmaceuitcal industry in particular. I've aquired quite the knowledge base but what I have observed (at least at my own school) is that many students lack that initial spark to find a great job. Maybe they are overwhelmed by it all but I feel a lot of this comes from a lack of knowledge, but there is no better time than now to jump on the train of success!
Within my close group of friends I refer to this "train of success" quite often. My train of success has me as the conductor, a positive attitude to keeps me on track, and a drive to only move forward. Once the train has aquired its rapid velocity it's very difficult to interupt its momentum. However it does have to start somewhere. Your resume is the ticket that allows you to pull out of the station so to speak. It's the first thing a company sees when evalauting potential employess and is almost always the thing that gets you that first interview. If you want to take a trip on Dorko's Train of Success you're going to have to have that polished ticket.
This ticket is your Resume! If you don't know how to write a resume, or are looking to spice up your current one (ordinary tickets will never be accepted) than you're in luck!
MindJet is offering a great webinar that will allow you to make this first step. So the only thing I have to say is....All Aboard!

Two dentistry professors use MindManager to help students learn complex subjects more effectively
I don't have a lot of time to blog these days so when I post something it is often a topic that really captivates me. This case study about dentistry professors using
MindManager to help students learn complex subjects is probably one of the most interesting I have seen in quite some time! The interest lies in the fact that I was once pursuing a career in dentistry. Although the goal to become a dentist has evolved, my love for dentistry still beats quite hard. I also know quite a few students in dental school (some of them are even using Tablet PCs!) so when two topics like
MindManager and dentistry interact it brings a smile to my face that I think any dentist would appreciate!
I applaud the efforts of the professors using
MindManager and almost wish I could sit in on one of their lecture as I really would love to see this presentation in person. I probably would find the information quite interesting as well! :) Cuurent pre-dental or even pre-med students would probably appreciated my efforts to transform that big bulky DAT/MCAT Kaplan review guide into one incredibly inspiring
MindManager Map. It assisted in digesting a lot of that information and revealed connections that weren't so apparent while reading.

I enjoy your blog, and have learned a lot from you - I'm a medical school faculty member, and use a tablet, MindManger, & OneNote mself, and just started a trial of GyroQ. My question: how do you link between MindManager topics and OneNote? You mention a MindManager to OneNote link, but where can I get that? Thanks.
Hi Susan,
Glad I could help out and even more excited to hear about a medical school faculty memeber using all my favorite tools! Way to go! I'm sure all your students can appreciate the help it provides!
I do link to MindManager and OneNote but it's not as easy as it sounds. First off I am using OneNote 12, the recent beta release of the upcoming office. Second there is no magic button (yet) to establish this link so it requires a little work. I mention it in the below post and you can find directions to the procedure via a link on that page.
Good Luck!
